Cootanoorina Project

The Cootanoorina project comprises three exploration licences (EL 5625, EL 5487, EL 5599) totalling 843km2 to the south of Oodnadatta

The project area lies on the eastern edge of the Gawler Craton within the Peake-Denison Domain, an area dominated by the Palaeoproterozoic Peake Metamorphics which outcrop in the far east of the project area.

Preliminary geophysical modelling by Kingston has identified a NNW trending gravity feature with a magnetic shell lying to the west of the Peake Denison Inliers, beneath younger sedimentary cover.  Kingston’s recently completed ground gravity survey has focused on the further definition of this feature.

Numerous historic mines and mineral occurrences appear within the outcropping basement rocks to the east of the project area.  Mineralisation appears related to NNW trending structures.
